At LowFat Gaming Studios, we take your favourite games and reimagine them. We specialize in developing total conversion historical mods that breathe new life into established titles — providing a gateway to new mechanics, immersive cultures, and endless strategic depth rooted in the real world, and ensuring your favorite titles remain as relevant and exciting as the day they launched.
We are a small, independent, South Australian start-up, with a mission to bridge the gap between gaming and history, offering players a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in forgotten worlds.We believe that playing a game can inspire curiosity and can lead to deeper learning and appreciation of the rich tapestry of our past.
Each mod we create is meticulously researched and aims for authenticity and depth, allowing players to engage with historical events, figures, and cultures in exciting and interactive ways. By introducing deep, era-specific mechanics and authentic narratives, players can experience new gameplay possibilities through the lens of human history.

Product Owner & Lead Developer
Mark aka Fatrod is the resident history nerd and Lead Developer of Lowfat Gaming Studios. Armed with a triple history major from the University of Sydney, Fatrod started building the Empire of Europe mods 3 years ago as a hobby outside of his day job as a Solutions Engineer — a natural extension of his love of history and gaming.
Encouraged by the positive reception and popularity of the mods, Mark founded LowFat Gaming Studios to accelerate the development and growth of the Empires of Europe franchise, with a long-term goal of expanding to other titles and being a leading total conversion mod development studio.
@Crazy Lopez
Project Lead & Creative all-rounder
Maria aka CrazyLopez is Fatrod’s real life partner. A jack-of-all trades, she has a proven track record as a delivery machine, with over 8 years experience in digital Product Ownership and project management, plus years of experience in marketing and administrative roles.
As Project Lead, she will be wearing many hats to ensure things are humming along — as scrum master, managing the website, creating in-game assets, marketing and generally supporting Fatrod in achieving his vision for the studio.

Developer
With a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (Honours), expertise in multiple programming languages including C++, and extensive experience in Game AI and Linux, Sandipan is a key driving force in building Empires of Europe.
As Lead Developer, his focus is building custom functions — creating immersive experiences and opening up new gameplay possibilities for our players.
